Pancakes

These will make your weekend. The secret? Patience, that and fresh baking soda/powder. Have all three and you will be rewarded with fluffy deliciousness.


Mise en Place
Staples Dairy
1 cup AP Flour 1 large egg
1 1/2 tbs sugar 1 1/4 cup buttermilk
3/4 tsp baking soda 2 tbs melted butter
3/4 tsp baking powder 3/4 tsp kosher salt
Spray Canola Oil

Equipment
Griddle At Medium Low
300 Degree Oven

Directions
Step Action
1 In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, powder, salt, and soda
2 In a separate bowl, crack egg, and beat lightly
3 Add eggs and buttermilk to dry ingredients, and mix till it just comes together
4 Spray griddle with oil, and using a measuring device, pour batter on to the griddle to create pancakes
5 Be patient. Wait till they bubble. Once they do, check progress by peeking underneath. Once they look golden brown and delicious, flip.
6 After 2 minutes, check pancakes. If golden, evac to plate and keep warm in oven
7 Repeat steps 4-6 till all the batter is gone
8 Eat!
